J. Michael Turner

Mike is an experienced attorney who has represented clients across the state of South Carolina for more than 35 years.  His practice has been varied from simple cases to very complex cases.  He represented David Smith after the tragic loss of his sons at the hands of their mother, Susan Smith.  He represented the Laurens County Healthcare System in successfully defending its right to build a new hospital.   He enjoys helping the disabled obtain their Social Security Disability benefits.  Mike is a Christian and has been very involved in leadership roles in the First Baptist Church of Laurens.

In 2005, Mike was appointed by the S.C. Supreme Court to serve as Vice Chair of the Commission on Lawyer Conduct.  This Commission has jurisdiction over all allegations that a lawyer has committed misconduct.
He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys boating, swimming and deer hunting.
